It's easy to see why Mykonos was the holiday destination of choice for Jackie Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis in the Sixties. Now it is re-established as the destination for international playboys - and girls. Mykonos combines sleepy whitewashed houses with a harbour filled with multimillion pound floating gin palaces, pinkand-white domed churches and sandy bays with bustling clubs. An island pastime (after a late supper) is to head into Mykonos Town to walk along the harbour and bar-hop. With its deluxe hotels and spas, designer clothing boutiques and even a beachside Nobu restaurant (at the Hotel Belvedere), Mykonos is for being, rather than doing.
